Introduction

Kesari Dainik ("we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Kesari Dainik mobile app or website, why we collect it, how we use it, whom we share it with, and the choices you have regarding your personal data.

Data We Collect

  • Account & identity data: name, email address, phone number (if you provide it), profile preferences.
  • Content & usage data: which editions or articles you view, bookmarks, reading preferences, search queries and app feature usage (e.g., opening issues, downloads).
  • Device & technical data: device model, OS version, app version, unique device identifiers (advertising ID or similar), IP address, language, and telemetry necessary for performance and crash reporting.
  • Support & communications: messages you send to support (including email content), and responses we provide.
  • Payment data: we currently do not collect payment/card data because the App does not offer paid subscriptions. If you make purchases through third-party stores (e.g., Google Play), payment data is handled by the store and governed by their privacy policies.

How We Use Your Data

We use data for the following primary purposes:

  • Provide and improve the Service: deliver e-paper editions, personalize content and features, and fix bugs.
  • Analytics & product improvement: measure usage patterns and performance to optimize the app.
  • Support & communications: respond to your inquiries and provide account related messages (e.g., password resets).
  • Security & fraud prevention: detect abuse, protect our systems and our users.
  • Legal compliance: comply with legal obligations and requests from law enforcement when required by law.

Sharing & Disclosure

We do NOT sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • Service providers: analytics, hosting/CDN, crash reporting, email delivery and customer support providers who process data on our behalf under contract.
  • Legal & safety: when required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety of Kesari Dainik, our users or the public.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, sale, reorganization or acquisition of assets where user data may be transferred as part of the transaction (with appropriate protections).
Third party service providers will only receive the data necessary to perform their service and are contractually bound to keep the data secure and not use it for other purposes.

  • CDN and image hosting services;

Account Deletion & Data Removal

What we require: registered name, email used for the account, phone number (if provided) and password for verification. This helps prevent fraudulent deletion requests.

Requests are verified and typically processed within 3–7 business days. Some data may be retained to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes.

International / Cross-border Transfers

Your information may be processed or stored in servers located in other countries for operational purposes (hosting, analytics). Where required, we will implement safeguards to protect your information consistent with applicable privacy laws.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy here with an updated "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide notice through the app or email where appropriate.
